What You're Getting
The Holy Family Icon With Gold Sheets
A hand painted or written icon from Greece made with real 24K gold sheets on top. It is Grade A work depicting the Holy Family of Joseph, Mary, and the Child Jesus.
Written in Greece With Real 24K Gold
In the Orthodox tradition icons are said to be written rather than painted, reflecting their role as visual theology rather than decorative art. This icon is hand written by Greek iconographers using real 24K gold sheets, a technique used in Orthodox iconography for centuries to represent the uncreated light of God. For the Crucifixion gold sheet icon browse the Crucifixion Cross Icon with 24K Gold Sheets.
Grade A Quality (Large Size)
Grade A is the highest quality designation. The large size makes this icon a substantial devotional piece suitable as a focal point for a home altar or prayer corner. For other icons browse our icons collection.
