Prayer is something almost everyone can identify with. No matter your beliefs or faith, prayer is probably a major part of your practice. We pray every morning, throughout the day, and then at night before bed. We pray when we need help, are nervous about something, have a friend who is going through difficult times or sometimes we just want to thank God for everything we have in our lives. There are always plenty of reasons to pray and the more we do, the more we connect to our faith. Rosary rings are a beautiful way to make that connection any time, anywhere.
A Brief History of Rosary Rings
Over the years, people have dedicated their time to practicing and participating in prayer. It can be done in your mind, out loud, alone or with hundreds of people. One of the ways we connect to our faith is by saying the Rosary. The Rosary is one of the most common and well-known forms of prayer and it’s usually done by a very iconic symbol, Rosary beads. However, for those who are not able to carry beads with them all day, a smaller, more portable design was created called Rosary Rings.
These rings can go into wallets, purses and be taken with you anywhere you need to go throughout the day. They of course are used to recite the Rosary but also are used as reminders of one’s faith. If you have never used these rings before, here is how you can get started.
How to Use Rosary Rings
Before you begin, consider the reflections of each day for the rosary. There are 4 different reflections during the week, so you should take some time to learn about each one, the bible passages for each day, and so forth.
Place the rosary ring on your index finger during prayer time only. Next, make the sign of the cross and say the beginning prayers which include the Apostles Creed, Our Father, Hail Mary’s, and the Glory Be. After you have completed these, announce the first decade and begin with an Our Father and then start the 10 Hail Mary’s.
While saying the Hail Mary’s, rotate the ring, using the beads to count each prayer. Once you have said the Our Father and the 10 Hail Mary’s, recite the Glory Be and O My Jesus prayers. Once completed, recite the Hail Holy Queen and O God, Whose Only Begotten Son prayers.
Make the sign of the cross again and take the rosary ring off your finger and put it back in its normal place.
