What Is the Ark of the Covenant
A gold-covered wooden chest built by the Israelites under God's direct instructions. It held the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, Aaron's rod that had blossomed, and a golden jar of manna. It was the most sacred object in ancient Israel. The visible sign of God's presence among His people. The only manmade object in Jewish history considered holy. Period.
Exodus 25:10-22. God told Moses to build a sanctuary so He could dwell among His people. The Ark was the centerpiece. Shittim wood (acacia). Covered in pure gold. A gold crown around the top. Two cherubim on the lid (called the mercy seat), their wings spread upward, facing each other. Four gold rings and two gold-covered poles for carrying. Every detail was specified by God. Nothing was left to interpretation.
A rectangular chest. About 3.75 feet long, 2.25 feet wide, 2.25 feet tall (in modern measurements). Entirely covered in gold. Two golden cherubim on top with outstretched wings. Two carrying poles on the sides. It gleamed. It was designed to be the most magnificent object the Israelites possessed. And it was.
How to Pick the Right Ark Replica
Follow our simple four-step process to achieve. Not sure which size? Here's how to decide:
Where Will It Go?
Desk or nightstand? Small. Bookshelf or prayer corner? Medium. Church office or classroom? Large. Church foyer or major display? Extra large. Match the size to the space. Simple.
Who Is It For?
Personal gift? The small or medium is perfect. Pastor or church leader? Go large. A church or school? The extra large makes a powerful statement. The cast metal display is ideal for anyone who wants something elegant and interactive (the lid opens).
Ark + Contents or Contents Only?
We offer the Metal Ark and its contents as separate products. Choose the Ark alone, the contents kit alone, or purchase them together as a set. If you need replacements, Aaron’s rod, the manna vessel, and the tablets can also be ordered individually.
Budget
The smaller size is the most accessible option, while the contents kit can also be purchased separately. The large and extra-large versions are crafted as premium pieces. No matter the size, the Ark of the Covenant carries the same meaning, history, and faith.

Frequently Asked Questions
That's a question theologians, historians, and treasure hunters have debated for centuries. Some believe its discovery would be one of the greatest archaeological events in human history. Others believe God is keeping it hidden for a reason. In Jewish tradition, the Ark's return is sometimes associated with the Messianic age. For now, the mystery remains. But having a replica in your home keeps the story and its meaning alive. Every day.
The biblical account describes it as a real, physical object built by real people. Multiple books of the Bible reference it: Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. It was central to Israelite worship for centuries. Whether you approach it from a faith perspective or a historical one, the Ark was treated as absolutely real by the people who built it, carried it, and worshipped before it. Our replicas are faithful reproductions based on the Exodus 25 description.
After Solomon built the Temple in Jerusalem, the Ark was placed in the Holy of Holies. It remained there for centuries. When the Babylonians destroyed the Temple in 586 BC, the Ark vanished. The Bible doesn't record what happened to it. Second Maccabees suggests the prophet Jeremiah hid it in a cave on Mount Nebo. But that's never been confirmed. The Second Temple, built after the Babylonian exile, had an empty Holy of Holies. The Ark was simply gone.
A gold-covered wooden chest built by the Israelites at God's direct command. Described in Exodus 25. It held the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, Aaron's rod that blossomed, and a golden jar of manna. The Ark was kept in the Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle (and later Solomon's Temple). It represented God's presence among His people and His covenant with Israel. The only manmade object ever considered sacred in Judaism. Some also call it the arc of the covenant or Moses' ark, since God commanded Moses to build it.
Three things. The two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments, written by the finger of God. Aaron's rod, which miraculously budded, blossomed, and produced almonds overnight as a sign of God's chosen priesthood. And a golden vessel holding a gour of manna, the bread God provided from heaven during the Israelites' 40 years in the wilderness. Together, these three items represented God's law, His authority, and His provision. That's what was inside the ark of the covenant.
A rectangular chest, roughly 3.75 feet long, 2.25 feet wide, and 2.25 feet tall. Made of acacia (shittim) wood. Completely covered in pure gold, inside and out. A decorative gold crown ran around the top edge. On the lid (the mercy seat) sat two golden cherubim with wings spread upward, facing each other. Two gold-covered wooden poles slid through four gold rings on the corners for carrying. It was magnificent. Designed by God Himself.
Nobody knows for certain. That's the honest answer. The Ark disappeared from the historical record after the Babylonian destruction of Solomon's Temple in 586 BC. Some traditions say it was hidden beneath the Temple Mount. Ethiopian Christians claim it's in the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum, Ethiopia. Others believe it was taken to Egypt or destroyed during the Babylonian siege. Has the ark of the covenant been found? No. Not confirmed. The mystery remains one of the most fascinating in all of history.
